Let me introduce myself

Hello lovely teachers !

I’ve just started this blog so let me tell you a little bit about myself, my name is Anaïs, I’ve been teaching English in France to high schoolers since 2018, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey! When I first started, I was only 21 years old, and there was not a huge age gap between me and my students, and it took some time for them to see me as their teacher and not just a fellow classmate! I’ll admit, it wasn’t always easy but over the years, I learned how to assert my authority while still being approachable and friendly. I’ve learned so much about myself and about how to connect with and teach my students.

One of the biggest things that teaching has taught me is patience. Let’s face it, teenagers can be a handful! But I’ve learned to take a step back and breathe when things get stressful, and to approach every situation with calmness and compassion.

Patience is essential in teaching because every student has their own unique learning style and pace. As a teacher, it’s crucial to understand that not everyone learns at the same speed, and some students may require more time to grasp certain concepts than others.By being patient, I can create a safe and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth for all my students, regardless of their abilities. When a student feels comfortable and supported, they are more likely to take risks and try new things, which can lead to breakthrough moments in their learning journey. Additionally, patience helps me manage difficult behaviors or situations that may arise in the classroom. By remaining calm and patient, I am better equipped to handle challenging situations without reacting impulsively, which can sometimes escalate the problem.

Teaching has also helped me become more organized. As you all know, being a teacher requires a lot of planning, preparation, and attention to detail. I’ve learned to prioritize my time and stay on top of things, which has helped me not only in my job, but in my personal life as well.

But perhaps the biggest change that teaching has brought about in me is my love for creating. I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to engage my students, whether it’s through cute worksheets, fun activities, or beautiful classroom decors. Unfortunately, in my subject area, I can’t always use all of my creativity for my students. That’s why I started my own TeacherspayTeachers store, so I could share my passion for creating and help other teachers at the same time.

In my TpT store, you’ll find all sorts of resources to help make your classroom beautiful and organized. I offer classroom decors, things for classroom management and community, and all sorts of other fun and creative resources. Although my products aren’t directly related to language teaching, I hope they’ll inspire you to bring a little bit of creativity and beauty into your own classrooms.

If you’re reading this article, I would you to learn more about you, please tell me your teaching journey in the comment section.

Lots of love and happy teaching x
